Key parts of the NHS have effectively been privatised over the past 3 decades and this process is continuing. The implementation of new Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) slated for local Neighbourhood Health Centres is just one example. The SJN is supporting groups such as "We Own It" and "Keep Our NHS Public" to petition MPs to block these models, citing recent findings from the Centre for Health and the Public Interest that shows how private firms extracted £1.6 billion in profits from the NHS over a two-year period.
